I would like to know as much about the surgical tech field as possible. I have a friend who is a CST/FA who is a company rep for Smith Nephew. He has answeredsome questions how ever I am still confused on some things. 1. Should I specialize? 2. Should I get certified right away? 3. Does Ohio recogni… Continue

Needing inspiration!

Come on you surgical techs!!! I am flailing here in my burn-out! It is time for a change. Let's unite-let's demand compensation for being certified. All hospitals require it, yet if one is not certified, they still hire. Compensate the certified surgical technologists! If we want the same recognition, and repect as a profession--look to RN's. They are compensated for being CNOR certified. We are not lower then the RN in Surgery-so let's start expecting more! I mean NO disrespect toward any surgi… Continue

THE END OF EVOLUTION?

The End of Evolution? By R. Albert Mohler, Jr. Christian Post Guest Columnist Thu, Oct. 09 2008 09:43 AM EDT [-] Text [+] E-mail Print RSS More on Topic The evolutionist is locked into an intellectual box from which there is no rescue. Evolutionary theory is naturalistic by necessity - everything must be explained in purely naturalistic terms. Only nature can explain nature, and there is no other source of meaning or truth. Thus, in the end the theory of evolution - and the theory of evolution a… Continue

You know you're an RCP when - "clubbing" no longer refers to the hitting up of the bar scene downtown - you call someone "SOB" and are NOT calling them a son of a b#$%# - you look at bigger people with no necks and think "man, they'd be a difficult intubation" - SpO2, MDI, SOBOE, DPI, COPD, IPPB, FiO2 and R/A all mean something to you - you DON'T encourage people to use cough medicines - you measure the amount someone smokes in pack years - you can hear the phrase "pulmonary toilet" and not laug… Continue

WHAT IS ACCREDITATION?

What is Accreditation? By Sindya N. Bahnoo One of the first questions you should ask when considering a degree program is "Is it accredited?"
